Frequently Asked Questions
"I want to get a tattoo, are they painful?"
Short answer: Yes. All tattoos are painful, some more than others. Your personal pain tolerance will dictate how painful a certain tattoo will be. Additionally, there are some places on the body that hurt more than others. If you are considering getting a tattoo we recommend that you evaluate your personal pain tolerance and that you ask others, including us, about where you might want to get it.
"How old do I have to be to get a tattoo?"
California Law states that tattooing or offering to tattoo any persons under the age of 18 is a misdemeanor offence, so naturally you have to be at least 18 years old to get a tattoo.
"What if i bring a note from my guardian saying its okay?"
Unfortunately written and notarized consent by a parent or legal guardian does not apply to tattooing in the state of California. You must have valid I.D. and be at least the age of 18 to get a tattoo.
"Do I need to bring an ID?"
For documentation purposes we will need a current state/federal photo ID/Drivers License or Passport. We do NOT accept copies, pictures, non photo IDs or print outs.
"What should i do to prepare for my tattoo?"
The first thing you should do is research what type of tattoo you want. Where you want it, how big, what style etc. If you don't really have an idea about a design, feel free to call us and we can suggest many styles of tattoo and even help you design it.
Once you have a design in mind, call us or stop by the shop and talk to one of our artist about scheduling a tattoo appointment. We have openings all throughout the week, with the exception of Mondays. Consultations are free and if you want to set a date for a tattoo all you need is a small deposit that goes towards the total of your tattoo.
If you already have a tattoo appointment with us here is a list that will help you be ready.
Your tattoo may take a few hours so make sure you have eaten beforehand.
Wear comfortable clothing that will allow us to tattoo the desired spot with ease.
Please arrive clean and on time for your tattoo appointment.
Do NOT shave the area of tattoo prior to coming in, we do that for you.
Do NOT bring your children or a big group of friends. We like to stay focused when tattooing and having a crowded tattoo station may be an issue.
Do Not come to the tattoo session under the influence of any drug or alcohol.
"I have a fresh tattoo, how do i care for it?"
We have a full page of aftercare instructions on our site, it can be found under the AFTERCARE tab. Always use your best judgement when caring for a new tattoo.
